Gualala is in the extreme southwestern corner of California's Mendocino County, across the Gualala River from The Sea Ranch in northwestern Sonoma County. Visitors come to Gualala on scenic Highway 1. Gualala is mid-way between Mendocino to the north and Jenner to the south; about a 1.25 hours drive from each. The largest city in Sonoma County, Santa Rosa, is about 1.75 hours drive. Although websites and GPS systems frequently recommend travelling across the mountains via Skaggs Spring - Stewart's Point Road, we recommend coming west on Route 116 (River Road from Santa Rosa to Jenner, then north on Highway 1.
Shepherd by the Sea recently lost its worship space at the Gualala Community Center when it was tragically lost to fire on February 13, 2023. We are worshipping at the Gualala Arts Center for the remainder of February and are deciding on an interim location. Our planned permanent space in Gualala requires renovation and is going through the Mendocino County permitting process.
